  Hamburger Eyes
Photo Party

Wow, those Hamburger Guys — publishers of gritty, funky and some seriously beautiful photos from right now — they know how to throw a party. Marking the release of issue number 8 of Hamburger Eyes (all photos, no text), they took over the Gallery at 111 Minna Street in San Francisco and made it a magnet for people who live their lives as part of a visual scene.

The work of 20 mostly young, emerging photographers was artfully displayed throughout this comfortable, rambling gallery space. Add two bars, a DJ, a jam-packed eye-candy crowd, and some serious conversation about photography and current cultures — and it felt like living anthropology.

Here are 33 photos from opening night.
