I had the good fortune to meet Russian photographer Alexey Titarenko when he was visiting New York City from his home in St. Petersburg. He was there for the opening of a remarkable show of his work dating from the early 1990's (the fall of the Soviet Union) to the present.
Attached is an audio recording of a brief conversation we had. Nailya Alexander, the gallery owner, acted as translator. Also included are some examples of his work. Hope you enjoy.
This entry is designed to show the approximate length of an actual entry in this site. In its final form, this site will also include imagery somewhere on the page that one could comment upon. The question is still how the site can be set up so that all comments must be approved before they are visible.
Surely the comment process can be controlled via the movable type control panel. I'll need to check the documentation thoroughly in order to figure out how that sort of filtering works. After all, it would be inappropriate for a visitor to comment on fine photography with phrases like 'bosso keeno' or 'totally radical, dude!'. It just wouldn't be proper.
