Xibei Zhang (b. 2000) is a Chinese photographer based in Xi’an. He graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University and studied as an exchange student at Chiba University in Japan. Working primarily with large-format analogue photography, Zhang combines documentary inquiry with a conceptual, de-hierarchized visual structure. His practice takes the form of long-term, structured portrait series that examine issues of identity, social classification, and visibility in contemporary China.
