I started taking images in the 1980s, mainly landscape and some wild life work. About 11 years ago studying some of the great photographers of the past and present, I decided to try to understand Street Photography better. At first I didn't get it. I had taken a number of images on the street and I just wasn't getting that a person walking down the street was a good image. Then while reviewing one specific image I had taken, a light bulb went off in my head and I started realizing that there was so much more to it. Composition, geometry, story telling, suggestion, hidden story lines and subjects, framing, sub framing, figure to ground, etc.. All these things really started coming together and I was hooked. I now shoot at least 80% Street images. My telephotos are collecting dust.
