Alana Perino was born in 1988 and led a childhood split between New York City and the rural North Fork of Long Island. She studied European Intellectual History and Photography at Wesleyan University, graduating with honors. After working as a photojournalist in the Israeli-Palestinian Territories, Alana returned to the United States. Recently, she has been completing several road trips across the country to photograph American heritage sites. Alana resides in Oakland, CA, where she works as a lighting technician, a photography teacher, and an artist.
