Alberto was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1958. He currently lives in Florida, USA. His photographic endeavor started at the age of thirteen with his first dark room. In his own words: “I vividly remember the first time I saw the image slowly appearing in my developing tray. That magic awakened my imagination then, and still does today.” In his late teens, in 1974, he already knew that photography was going to become his passion, so he studied at “Foto-Expresión”, in Caracas, with the renowned photographer and filmmaker Joaquín Cortés. For many years he worked as a professional photographer, in photo journalism and advertising.
Alberto kept his long last interest in reportage, but lately also stirred his attention to minimalist portraits, urban landscapes and constructivist images. Most of his work is in black and white, as his intent is to reveal the drama that emerges between the purest white, the darkest black and the multiple shades in between.
