Aldo Paredes Orejuela was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
In 2004, at age 19, he moved to France to study at the Lyon School of Fine Arts.
Aldo studied photography under Philippe Durand from 2010 to 2011.
In 2012, Julien Guinand, head of the photography department at the Lyon School of Fine Arts, offered him to join the teaching team at BLOO (École de photographie et d'image contemporaine) in Lyon, under the direction of Gilles Verneret. Aldo went on to teach photography until 2016. Since 2012, he has been shooting images for his personal photo-diary work, as well as numerous editorial and advertising assignments.
From 2014 onwards, Aldo has been photographing the electronic music scene and nightlife, most notably in collaboration with the American DJ and musician The Black Madonna (Marea Stamper), whom he has been following, camera in hand, on worldwide tours, creating intimate documentary-style black and white photographs.
