About Alex Alonso

Alex Alonso is a molecular biologist with a deep passion for photography.

In his latest projects he has explored the abstraction of the natural world through photography: in *Liquare: the liquid shape* the abstraction came from using water bodies to change the shape of fruits.

In *Cianoptero: Entomological transformations* he explored the abstraction of the male human body in a performatic approach emulating the developmental stages of an insect. This series was part of the official selection on the Tokyo Photography Awards 2021.

His photography studio and hub is named Cianoptero after the seminal project, and it's back since 2025 now in a new location.

Nature is always present in his artistic expression.
