I am a Los Angeles based photographer specializing in portraits of people, animals and families as well as street photography. I was born in Riga, Latvia and am of Lithuanian and Russian descent. I’ve been living in Southern California for the last 6 years and am fascinated by the convergence of so many cultures in this one remarkable place. I myself am a convergence of cultures so the diversity suits me.
I am best known for my black and white photography of people, although I am equally in love with color. Every person, every object is made up of a collection of stories, moments and experiences. I’m fascinated by this and try to capture it with my camera. I want each picture to tell that story and to show the true self.
In my photography I strive to show the inner you, all the beauty and experiences that make you who you truly are. I look for the space where you are comfortable, where the camera disappears and my subjects are their truest selves. I am calm and remain so in all kinds of chaos. There is no wedding frenzy, children or pet madness that can shake me, I will be right there to capture the important moments.
