Alesia Exum lives and works in Brooklyn, Ny
Exum was hired by Rolling Stone to illustrate features on suicide and youth gangs; Newsweek for stories about nuclear war and racism: New York Times Magazine for a piece on genetics; Texas Monthly for a feature on drug overdoses of privileged kids. Exum co-founded Strange Loop Gallery with Claire Fleury in the Lower East Side. Strange Loop became a creative hub for the queer community as the gallery showed work from well known artists who pushed the boundaries of identity, feminism and queerness.
