About Alessandra Carosi
Born on 1984 in Italy Alessandra Carosi is an Italian visual artist and photographer based in Paris. She has been awarded the first prize at San Fedele Award for Visual Arts (Milan)2018 and her dummy Ruota has been shortlisted both at 2018 Kassel Dummy Award and 2018 PWA Aarhus Dummy award. She has been shortlisted in several international contests like 2019 Bourse du Talent (Portrait), Prix Maison Blanche 2019 (Projections), 2019 Athens Photo festival, 2017 Lucie Foundation Scholarship (Photo made), 2017 Fondazione Fabbri Award and 2017 Photogrvphy Grant Award (nominee in Conceptual category). Her projects have been shown both in Italy (Marsell Paradise and Galleria San Fedele in Milan 2018, Centro Pecci per l’Arte Contemporanea in Prato 2017, Fondazione Fabbri in Pieve di Soligo 2016 and 2017, FAST in Treviso 2016, Si Fest Off in Savignano in 2013 and 2018) and abroad (France, Arles 2016 and 2018, Paris 2015, Japan 2018). After graduating in Industrial Design, she has been working at Politecnico di Milano as Research Fellow and assisted Italian Master photographer Guido Guidi in Cesena and Thomas Mailaender in Paris. In 2017 she graduated from the Master in Photography at IUAV in Venice. She regularly participates in Residencies programs such as UNIdee at Fondazione Pistoletto 2015, Sconfinamenti in Maritime Alps (2018), Fondazione Campori Residency in collaboration with Terra project collective in Soliera, Modena (2018) and has been recently awarded a month Residency in Japan by Zero Date Foundation.
