About Alex Gutierrez

I took some photography classes online at the Academy of Arts located in San Francisco, Ca. Took a couple of classes until I realized it wasn't worth it for me. It's hard for me to follow procedures so I failed classes. I realized that I was seeking validation that my photography was good and that it wasn't just me who thought that I took good photos. I got the validation that I was looking for from the teachers and Burk Uzzle. It was him that gave me the belief in myself and that maybe I had something more to give. I tried to be a family photographer but I always had that empty feeling that it wasn't my type of photography. I've always been told that my photography can't produce a living. Fuck them! I do it for the art of it and would rather have that freedom of expression so I can share what I see.
Fingers crossed.
