I already started photographing life on the streets in my hometown in the late 1980s, but focused on other projects in the late 1990s. After a hiatus of several years, I used the advent of digital technology and the increased interest in street photography to begin work on several longer term projects. I used professional as well as personal travel to roam the streets abroad and at home, and to document in particular the sometimes more peculiar moments in people's lives. Tourism provides an excellent backdrop for finding such moments. I take my inspiration from Elliott Erwitt, Bruce Gilden, Martin Parr, Alex Webb and David Alan Harvey.
