Photography has been nurturing my life for as long as I can remember. It has provided me with elements to better understand not only the world around me, but my inner self as well. We are surrounded by beauty, immersed in it, though at times this might not be so apparent. Life can be very hard, tricky and unfair, and it is through the search of beauty, that I am able to mitigate the roughness that inevitably occurs, and prevail. My artistic development has been driven by this filter, operating like a sieve selectively shaking reality to capture its collateral beauty. From this filtering, images arise, giving birth to conceptual issues that for some reason I’m driven to explore. The outcome is a fruitful exchange between the reality I capture and the brushstrokes of my imagination, largely responsible for granting them the gift of visibility.
