I am a self-taught photographer based in France. Half French and Malian and I grew up in different countries in Africa but mostly Niger. My love for photography comes from my dad who shooted and filmed a lot. I grew up with a sense of loss and wondering about the meaning of life and what love is about.
I am the kind of person who is curious about life, about observing it, the way people and things change along the seasons and the years, what we were, what we will be, what we do, the way we do it. I have this strange feeling that even if societies evolve, some things will always be the same. I am looking for timeless in my photography because it’s the way I feel the world.
My work is about memory, its failures, loss, transmission between generations, time passing by which we can't cease, the rawness and authenticity of life with my own touch of poetry, the place nature has in our human life.
Even though I practice with digital, I prefer analog for the angel of chance, the magical poetry which can emerge, the imperfection which symbolizes life to my eyes.
