I began taking photographs after many years as a social worker, involved in practice and in academia, in the fields of social-community change. I am now a professor emeritus of Haifa University in Israel. For many years I have been engaged in studying Buddhism and riding mountain bikes. About a year ago, I bought a camera; I focus mainly on street photography.
I spend a lot of time walking through neighborhoods, villages, parks and streets. Sometimes I am looking for defined subjects, some of them related to aspects of social change, but in many cases I set out without direction and simply take notice of odd moments and interesting interactions.
