I am Anastasia Sgourou. I was born and live in Chania, Crete.
In 2001, I studied in the photography school of Platonas Rivelis in Syros.
I participated in many group and individual exhibitions both in Greece and abroad.
In 2002, I participated in the National Competition for the 100 issues of the magazine Photographer and received a distinction in the category “Capture”, by winning the 4th, 5th and 10th award.
In 2005, I participated with one photo in the International Art Festival that took place in Neoria, Chania. My work was chosen for the cover of the artists list booklet.
In 2013-14, I won a scholarship from Professor Eva Voutsaki, who lives and works in England.
The subject was “Endo-photography” and in the end of the year I created a photo-book titled “Figures in Time”. The book was among the first four from all Greece and was exhibited in Benaki Museum (August, 2015) with the distinguished photo-books from all around world.
