I have been working on photographic documentaries for the past 30 years. Since 2006, I have been photographing subjects related to health, and have visited more than 200 hospitals and health centers all around Brazil to register health teams and people searching for health care. I’ve released seven books about those journeys. By the end of 2008, the contact with many international organizations such as the UN (United Nations), WHO, Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross, among others, motivated me to go abroad and register health related actions in different parts of the world. Therefore, I started a worldwide project which discusses how important health promotion and quality of life is by documenting different initiatives. For the past 12 years, I have been in communities from 15 different countries. I always try to photograph different health issues focused on humanization, on valuing the health professionals, and on valuing issues where patient care can be improved.
