Andrea Borgarello graduated in photography from the Washington School of Photography in 2006. In 2002, he received a Ph.D. and 2 masters in Development Economics. He completed his education by attending workshops with Mary Ellen Mark and Bruce Gilden. Today, he has more than 10 years of working experience in photography and development with international organizations such as the International Organization for Migration, the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Development Agency of the Italian Government and various NGOs and private foundations. He has collaborated with various magazines and editorial projects (DAYSJapan, GEO France, L'EUROPEO, Terramater, The Other Hundred, Design with Nature Now). He is currently a UNHCR photographer.
