About Andrew Holtzman

Photography awakens a personal perspective on how we observe life.

Personally, I observe the world quite differently when behind the lens; I notice things I would not normally see. My goal is to capture big picture moments and to also hone in on the smallest of details -- particularly the interplay of light on water, objects, faces & color. It's those gone-in-a-second moments that create a rich and rewarding canvas.

Trying to categorize what type of subjects I'm drawn towards is tough.

Pretty much anything is game. Saturated color and the play of natural light across subject matter is a magnet. More traditional work, such as landscapes and seascapes are no less compelling, but there needs to be an unexpected element that brings it home.
