About Anita Modok
ANITA MODOK is an award-winning photographic artist, filmmaker and yoga teacher based in Sydney, Australia.
She has worked in the arts, film, music and media.
Growing up in a creative world, she has taken photographs since she was small. Anita was awarded a commonwealth scholarship to complete a Master of Fine Arts (photo media/research) at Art + Design, University of New South Wales, Sydney in 2012 and has a Master of Art (Admin) and a Bachelor of Education in media, film & photography. She has worked at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Her photographic work examines the symbiotic relationship between stasis & movement, still & moving images, capturing the magical moments embedded in the spaces between. Her portraiture, documentary and landscape work has won numerous awards, and recently received Honourable mentions in The Worldwide Photography Gala Awards, 15th Pollux and The 13th Julia Margaret Cameron awards .
Her photography has been published in books, CDs, newspapers and magazines.
