Anna Martynenko (b. 1994, Ukraine) is an artist working with photography based in Berlin, Germany. She graduated with an MA in Photography from the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale), Germany, in 2019, and also studied Audiovisual Techniques at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland, in 2015.
Recent selected exhibitions include “Pack and Go” funded by Italy Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Centro Luigi Di Sarro, Rome and Bieno, Italy, and in Tirana, Albania;
“Cell in SHAPE and the GHOST in the Shell” at G.A.S-station, Berlin, retrospective “The Gallery ”, by Artichoke Trust in London; “Past & Present” as part of 15th anniversary celebration of “Der Greif” in Pavillon 333 at Pinakothek der Moderne and Zirka, Germany; group show during Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival, UAE, all in 2023.
In 2022 she won Reclaim Award, The Gallery 1 prize by Artichoke Trust in 2022, in 2018 was shortlisted for the Friends Award - Freundeskreis des Hauses der Photographie e.V. Anna won the fellowship with Peace Revolution Artist Retreat in 2016, among other competition commendations.
She attended the Pack and Go: Art Residency Project in Italy and Albania funded by
Italy Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2023, Nouveau Grand Tour residency funded by Institut Français and Goethe Institut at Kulturfactory, Italy in 2022. Anna has been the recipient of mobility and travel grants such as EU-Japan Fest Passport Program for Japan trip, Culture Moves Europe from Goethe Institut for a 2-month project in Greece, both in 2023; from Schwarzkopf Stiftung and STIBET DAAD in 2019, from the European Cultural Foundation and Open Ukraine in 2016.
