Once a Parisian, now a Montrealer, Anne-Claire Vimal du Monteil studied cinema, history of art and philosophy. She worked at the Orsay Museum and in L’Archipel, a parisian movie theater dedicated to movie music before devoting herself to photography and photographic post-production.
Lately she felt a need to use her photographic and post-production skills for a deeper meaning. Her artistic production revolves around psychological portraits and self-portraits about freedom and enslavement, the passage of time, memory and imprint.
