Anne Morgenstern was born in Leipzig. She studied photography in Munich and Zurich, where she now lives and works as a photographer.
Her main interest is portrait and reportage photography.
Her work deals with people, their relationships to each other and to their environment. Social conventions are questioned again and again. She is interested in quiet moments, to which she attaches a central role.
Her work has been publishes in various magazines, such as ZEIT Magazine and Vogue Germany.
With her book LAND OHNE MITTE (Land without a center), she received the German Photo Book Award in 2016. The work has been exhibited several times, including at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg and at the FotoDoks in the Münchner Stadtmuseum.
At the end of 2017, her second photo book REINHEIT (Purity) was published with a text by Jonas Lüscher. An extensive selection of this work is in the collection of the Fotostiftung Schweiz.
