Anneleen Lindsay is a professional freelance photographer, based in Edinburgh and working throughout the UK. She mainly works in portrait, fashion and documentary genres and is particularly interested in storytelling portraiture and the interplay between people and their environments. Her work has a timeless quality inspired by the endurance of nature, pre-Raphaelite paintings and the literary and cinematic traditions of Romanticism and the Gothic.
Anneleen's work has been exhibited in London, Edinburgh, Mexico, Russia, Israel, the USA and Vietnam and has been featured in the New York Times. In 2016 she was a winner in the British Journal of Photography's 'Portrait of Britain' and the British Council's 'Shakespeare Lives in Photography' competitions.
Anneleen was named as an 'Emerging Talent' by Retina Photography Festival who exhibited her work in 2014 and 2016. She achieved a distinction in her BA in Photography at Edinburgh College in 2015 and is a licentiate of the BIPP.
