April Winter is a photographer and creator living and working on Mayne Island BC. Her work primarily revolves around self-portraiture shot on 35mm film. Using self-taught techniques in costume and prop making, as well as utilizing found objects she develops characters and imaginary worlds. She is inspired by alternative histories and imagining the future, creating photographs that feel alien but not alienating.
