I grew up in Berkeley, CA frequently traveling to Bangkok, Thailand to be with my mom and family out there. As such, I have two very different cultural lenses. The Bay has long-standing reputation for being socially and politically progressive (Black Panther Party, Free Speech Movement, Black Lives Matter, SF gay rights movement), so I was exposed to activism early on in my life. Not all of my work is directly political, but there’s consistent themes often concerning human rights and female empowerment. When I come back to Thailand I still have an activist mindset; I want to cause change. I want to challenge people and create representation where it is lacking.
