Ayu Johari loves telling stories. In our fast ever-changing world, Ayu seeks to capture fleeting moments that will go unnoticed. Ayu believes that being an artist is a duty as it is a gift. Photography can evoke emotions in a person and change a person's perspective, indirectly. She invites the viewer to see the world through her lens, to see, feel and discover. Born in Singapore, Ayu has always been drawn to the arts since childhood. She started drawing when she was seven years old but only picked up her first point and shoot camera when she was eighteen years old. Ayu finds inspiration from nature, people, literature, music, and her travels. Ayu believes that honing her passion for the arts is the highest form of self-expression where she is free to be herself. By choosing this path as her lifelong endeavor, she hopes to inspire people through her work. When she is not taking photos, Ayu loves to draw, paint and write poetry.
