About Bernard Crégut

Author photographer since 2010, I live and work in Montpellier (South of France).
I decided in 2010 to invest myself completely in photography in order to live fully and share my passion for art.
Very impressed and influenced by the surrealist approach in particular by René Magritte that Idiscovered in 2017, during the exhibition "The Treachery of Images" I photograph the familiar and the
stage in order to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, the real into the surreal….
By confronting 2 possible instantaneous each on their side but apparently irreconcilable I realizes thanks to the photomontage the improbable meeting of 2 paradoxical realities.
My photo montages are an invitation to travel in a singular world where reality and its representation disturb our reason and our certainties...

"there is a familiar feeling of poetry" said René Magritte, "a feeling of tourists who will seek very far the poetry and the poetry which they find they know it in advance it is about a familiar poetry given by very foreign things while the familiar can be the occasionto discover the poetry that is not familiar: the unknown poetry »
