I am Oxford based photographer. My special interest is in capturing conditions and human emotions of those living at the edges of societies in many parts of the world.
Working mainly in Black and White I try to show the hardships they endure each day just to feed their children. I am humbled by the fact that they are always very welcoming and happy to share their part of the world with me.
For the last few years I have been honoured to have been offered commission work by VSSMIndia.org (a charity working with nomadic tribes) and SEWAIndia.org (a union for women workers in the informal sector). More recently my images have been used by London based NGO - Anti-slavery.org for their campaigns against modern slavery.
Sale of my photographs and collections enables me to pursue my commitment to photograph the underprivileged around the world well as contribute towards promoting awareness. If you would like to purchase any of my images or to offer commission work and exhibition please feel free to contact me for a personal quote.
Other images in my portfolio include moments in time captured on my travels and many images of my experiments with different lenses and lighting conditions. Although there are many colour images in my portfolio I have a passion for black and white prints. Have studied it for several years trying every conceivable printer – paper - ink combination I have now settled on using black inks in up to 6 dilutions to give extremely smooth tonal transitions.
