I am an artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, currently based in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.
With wide-ranging intellectual interests, I have undergraduate degrees in sociology/anthropology and environmental science in addition to a graduate degree in science, technology, and society.
I’ve pursued these interests in a peripatetic career that includes climate change research in arctic Siberia, bilingual education in Spain, Ecuador, and Minneapolis, and research for science documentaries including BBC Horizon and PBS NOVA.
I have found, however, that photography most effectively encourages my playful and exploratory spirit. Influenced largely by the giants of street photography, I am drawn to quotidian experience, and I seek to create images that convey the lyricism and calm of daily life. I am currently working on a long-term project about my neighborhood in Boston.
