With a background in photojournalism, I have dedicated the last ten years of my life to documenting the spirit of the American Wild Horse. I have traveled across the United States observing and photographing the last of the wild horse bands in their natural habitat. I am driven by passion and by a devotion to tell the story of the plight of the American Wild Horse. I have made it a priority in my life and my art to educate and enlighten the public and inspire change. I work closely with Return to Freedom ~ Wild Horse Preservation and Sanctuary, that is a safe haven to 400 wild horses. This sanctuary is dedicated to preserving the freedom, diversity and habitat of America's wild horses through sanctuary, education and conservation.
I shoot with a Canon EOS - 1N with various black and white films. None of the images in this collection have been digitally manipulated. They record what I saw through the lens of the camera.
It is my greatest desire that my art touch the human spirit and encourage Americans to speak out on behalf of wild horses across the nation. We need to be their voice.
"In wildness is the preservation of the world." ~ Henry David Thoreau
