Caio Kenji was born July 14 of 86 in São Paulo and graduated as journalist in 2007 at Universidade Metodista de São Paulo. In 2004 worked as freelancer photographer for magazines and a small paper. In 2006 was a staff photographer for Made in Japan magazine and covered the cultural Japanese aspects in Brazil. In 2011 worked as freelancer for some of the biggest websites and newspapers of Brazil, such as Folha de S. Paulo and Globo.com.
In 2016 had his first solo exhibition at MIS (Museu da Imagem e do Som de São Paulo) with "Passagens Passeios" that was selected for "Nova Fotografia" program that year.
Now Caio lives in Lisbon with focus in his work that discuss the breaches of communication, questioning the signs inside modern society, bringing a conversation with the city, the others and with ourselves, not ignoring the pain and the sadness and the misunderstandings that walks among us in a place that everyone feels lonely from time to time but embracing these and merging with memories to create a visual poetry that no longer speaks about the situation captured in some fixed moment, it flows out of frame and mix with our senses.
