Caroline Suzman is an independent photographer who lives and works in Johannesburg. Her work has been featured in local and international media including Elle, Marie Claire, The Boston Globe, The Sunday Telegraph, Monocle, Polka, The Guardian and The London Times.
Group exhibitions include Lines of Sight: Perspectives in South African Photography (Iziko South African National Gallery, Cape Town, 1999) and Umhlaba 1913-2013: Commemorating the 1913 Land Act (SA National Gallery, 2013.
In 1997 Suzman began documenting the changing South African political and physical landscape, exploring themes of race, heritage, violence and land ownership. Her first book Guns Before Food will be published by Jacana media in 2017.
