Caterina Suzzi (Italy,1982) is a visual artist and storyteller based in France.
Photography allowed her to turn her passion into purposes, aligning her personal values with professional ones. She mainly worked in the Parisian suburbs, collaborating with the inhabitants of the most disadvantaged hoods. Her motivation to tell solution-oriented stories of communities who strive for a global change lead her to document the new challenges linked to food sovereignty and agricultural resilience in in her homeland.
She lived in Brazil, collaborating with Fabrica Bhering and Z42 Arte artists residences. Thanks to this new environment, she started the “Playfulness” project in which she question not only the way children look at the world but also how we, as adults, relate to them. Back in Europe, she continued to focus on topics that she cares deeply about: environment and youth, whose future is now more threatened than ever.
She joined Hans Lucas Studio in 2020.
Besides commissioned projects, her work has been exhibited in festivals: Les Nuits de Pierrevert; Regard Neuf 3, Paris and galleries: East Gallery, London; Galleriapiù, Bologna; Galerie Paris-Beijing, Paris.
