Photography is a framed representation of an instant of reality in the photographer's eye.
Documentary photography is a newsworthy framed representation of an instant of reality in the journalist-photographers eye.
Art photography is a (subjectively) attractive framed image of a scene, real or not, provoking any kind of emotion.
All of those are at the verge of becoming mundane, if they are not already.
The essence is sadly being forgotten.
Instead, often, the more 'likes' the better the picture.
News is more than often negative.
Art doesn't often show or tell anything real anymore.
Photography in general... everybody seems to know best... especially for others.
But the essence : LOOK AROUND
Nature is often art in itself, buildings, streets, life, ...
Any of those can tell something, emit emotions, be beautiful or beautifully ugly, spread knowledge.
Ever seen a 'snowsnail' ?
It is rare, but not rare enough to 'never' be seen.
It is an artistic beauty created by nature.
A little bit of magic with lots of science.
It should be newsworthy,
it should be a masterpiece of art.
It's existence, an instant in a winterscene, should be told and shown.
To those who CANNOT go see for them selves.
Or, to those who went, but just didn't SEE...
Photography is not just a goal but a means.
And a 'lucky shot' still needs to be seen and taken with skill.
News can be good news.
Art is everywhere.
An artist sees, grasps and conveys,
knowledge And emotion.
Or better yet exchanges, learning, telling, giving and receiving all the time.
That is my goal.
