Cecilie Owren was born in Lillehammer , Norway and grew up on the countryside surrounded by forests.
She spent a lot of her childhood creating short films with her fathers video camera.
After leaving her hometown she moved to Switzerland where she first had her eyeopener to photography. She there learned to work in the darkroom and studied history of art.
She continued to study photography and video in Oslo.
After studying philosophy, theatre and french at the University of Oslo she went to London for two years to study acting. She returned to London to study film directing at The National Film School.
Owren`s work showcases mainly portraiture and landscapes.
She has a profound interest for nature and work solely with natural available light.
