19 year old photographer. Finished high school in 2016.
My first solo exhibition was in June 2017 at Marios Cafe in Fitzroy, Melbourne.
'Home' was a series of B&W photographs documenting the dissipation of my family and I moving out of our family home.
In August 2017 I exhibited my second solo exhibition at Collingwood Gallery.
The recent plans put into place to develop some of Melbourne's oldest low-rise public housing by the government manifested an inquisitive momentum in me. The idea of developing these 'prime location' public housing units into private/ public housing made me furious.
Public housing is so important to the community, decreasing the public homes in our area would create a loss of culture and diversity.
This exhibition is called 'Homes', documenting the architecture and residents of public housing. The exhibition's principle was to raise awareness of the importance of public housing, capturing the essence of the community. 'Homes' was supported by the Yarra Council.
I am currently travelling around Europe by myself, taking photos and experiencing/opening my mind/seeing more of the world.
I am enrolled but deferred from VCA Photography (Victorian College of the Arts) and will be attending in 2018.
I hope to do more Photojournalist work in the future!
