I am an American of French heritage and have been living in France for the past 22 years. Photography is my world; cameras are my eyes. I strive for realism, pure emotions, where the subject is not necessarily a plastic perfection, but instead, the viewer gets what is seen. I use my camera to make portraits which expose the individuality and the character of the subject. I take honest images and make portraits that bring depth to extraordinary people in ordinary situations. Every subject has a story to tell. I search for the spirit of the person beyond his or her outward appearance. I seek to capture the “who and why” through the intimate split-second movements which the camera can capture. My pictures allow viewers to sense the subject’s motivations and drive. I want to capture and focus on the smallest details which can be seen when looking at an image but are lost in the moment of life.
I work full-time at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France.
