Born in 1939 in Rose Hill, Mauritius. I have neen familiar with the photographic process since the age of six, my father being the owner of a photographic studio. After four years of hardship under Mao's regime in China, I went back home in Mauritius. In 1969 I obtained a 16 month scholarship for Internship at the French News Agency, the AFP. InMarch 1970, I did a photo reporting of the state of alphabetization in Tulear in Madagascar after which I reported on Indira Gandhi's visit in Mauritius. Came to Canada in 1971
