Claire Duquesne is a French Mexican, born in Portland, Oregon who fell in love with Scotland. Based in Glasgow, she has been taking photographs since she could hold a camera. Her first photograph was that of her parents’ hands (trying to make it into the shot) while under the weight of her Nikon. Having been inspired by early 20th century photographers such as Robert Doisneau and Vivian Maier, film photography has always been her calling. When asked what time period she would travel back to, her first answer has always been 1968 when Bob Dylan went electric and Patti Smith was on the brink of her first album. Music and photography were, in her eyes, at their finest and now the driving force in her own life. Street life, children, workers, artists, people have always been her love and fascination. She hopes to share those moments as a window into the lives of others.
