Dr. Conohar Scott (A.K.A. Environmental Resistance) is a lecturer of photographic theory and a practicing artist in the School of Media and Film, at the University of Lincoln. As part of his research practice, Conohar founded the artist led collective Environmental Resistance. The objective of Environmental Resistance is to protest against incidents of industrial pollution in the landscape, with projects undertaken on a unilateral basis or in partnership with environmental activist networks and NGO organisations. Using the combined skills of its members and collaborators, Environmental Resistance aims to educate, promote and provoke, in order to improve the visibility of the environmental struggles it profiles. I am also currently in the process of writing a history of environmentalism in photography, which shall be published by Bloomsbury in a forthcoming series to be edited by Liz Wells. In addition to this forthcoming monograph, my criticism on this topic has been published in a variety of publications – for details and access to the texts please see the 'Research' section of the Environmental Resistance website.
