I worked as a professional photographer for 20 years after graduating from The Art Institute of Atlanta in 1979. In 1995 I went to Africa and realized I needed to put my camera down and work with my whole being to try to do something about the devastation I saw there. I have been living in and out of Kenya for 24 years. I founded The Orbit Village Project Inc., a nonprofit, and we have developed a large school, children's home and 3 churches. I always took photographs but did not have the time to concentrate on keeping current with the many changes in the industry. Now, after turning 60 this year, I am trying to catch up and seriously photograph the people and cultures that I have become a part of, and new ones I continue to be exposed to.
