I have been a photographer all my life. In addition, I have had successful careers in media, elephant advocacy, and most importantly I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and extraordinary daughter!
I'm the daughter of a farm girl from Iowa, and a brilliant mechanical engineer from Chicago. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs provided me with the consummate 50's childhood. Coming of age during the Viet Nam era, my experiences expanded the spectrum of my perceptions of the world immeasurably.
My career in radio moved me to New York in 1982 and after over 20 years of challenges and successes I felt an incredible sense of accomplishment and strength.
I got married and was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Emily.
My house up in the woods of Connecticut (my retreat for pursuing my photography and writing) became our primary residence! Surrounded by nature, easy access to NY City, and the incredible magic of being a part of this wonderful life blooming before me everyday, my calling to photography was overpowering!
I am never as happy as I am when my camera is in my hands. It is not just my calling, it is my way to give back to the world for all I have been given and all that I have the gift to discover.
