My name is Dafna. The origins of this name come from the greek mythology but I come from Israel and I live in Germany.
Photography has been my companion and profession since a long time now.
My official photography journey began at the Musrara School (http://www.musrara.org) in Jerusalem and I have a growing list of group and solo exhibitions.
My main work is creating art-covers for musician.
My working process begins with a concept. I form the frame almost completely in my mind and only then go shooting, accepting all unplanned mishaps and surprises with open hands!
I shoot mostly analog (and mostly with my good old Hasselblad). The analog tempo serves me well, the weight of the camera, the feeling of film in my hands…still I enjoy both the analog and digital worlds while working on the images. Either directly on the film or on the computer, step by step, taking the skeleton of my concept and giving it it’s final shape.
I’ll turn 39 this November and I am an emerging talent.
