As an immersive documentary family photographer, I like to challenge what it means to take a perfect family photo. Truth is, I’m not interested in the neat and pretty. I want the nitty gritty. My goal is to create authentic images of families they couldn’t make for themselves, and to dispel the myth that in order to have beautiful family photos taken, your home has to be neat, your clothes have to be matching, and everyone must be perfectly in their place. I believe the best, most cherished photographs often materialize when things are a little out of place; that there is no moment too ordinary, no detail too small, and that there’s no such thing as perfect after all.
