About Daphne Wageman
Fine Art Photographer | Visual Artist | Handcrafted Portraits on Glass
Daphne Wageman (Netherlands, 1982) is an independent photographer. Her work focusses on conceptual documentary photography and on portraits made with analogue Dry Plate technique. She started her portrait studio ‘Studio Silverglass’ in 2014.
She studied typographic design and photography. She has extensive experience as graphic designer and designed visual statements through the use of innovative 3D lighting. Recently she completed the Northern Lights Masterclass.
By experimenting with analogue Dry Plate glass negatives Wageman discovered her fascination for the imperfect. In her portraits she searches vulnerable imperfections, which makes each person unique.
The innovative photographic processes and traditional photographic skills come together in her long-term documentary portrait project, named BlindSight.
