My name is David Cañavate, I'm actually architect but since some years I am fascinated by photography and I have a web where I show my images.
My web is a collection of moments in my everyday life through photographs. In this sense, this does not differ much from a photo album. But any photograph is always something more than a reflection of reality. Photographs have a double quality. They represent something, but are also something themselves. Pictures are always in between what they represent -the testimony of the moment in that they were taken-, and what they say or suggest simply as a two-dimensional image.
My images want to explore precisely that line that separates memory from story, space from surface. It is a visual reflection in both meanings: a mirror and an artificial construction.
