David Cubby is an artist and photographer and adjunct fellow at Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia. He has taught photography, fine art, design and communication, theory and practice at Australian universities as well guest and visiting lecturer at various tertiary institutes including Britain, America, Germany, Spain, Poland, China. His research focus is on visuality and its impact on language and thinking, and has presented and published papers on photography at major international conferences, seminars and workshops. David is the editor and chair of the editorial board of the International Journal of the Image. Recent exhibitions include Perfect Looking UWS Female Orphanage Gallery, Parramatta Campus 2012; Every Dignity at Shenzhen University, David Imaging and Cultural Development Gallery, Shenzhen China and UWS AD Gallery 2013 and Faith and Responsibility – Futian District and its People, Shenzhen at Shenzhen City Gallery 2014. His photographic and film works have been exhibited at the Sydney Biennale of Art and the Polish Biennale of Art. His photographic works are held within the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Fuji ACMP, Powerhouse Museum, University of Western Sydney and private collections.
