My father kindled my interest in photography at an early age, setting up a darkroom in our bathroom where we would develop and print our own black and white photographs. During school holidays I worked as an assistant in the photography studio at the printers where my father worked and experienced all the processes of commercial photography.
After a career in software development, I have returned to photography in a more serious way, having always retained an amateur interest. In 2017 I won the Documentary Prize in the British Life Photography Awards and an RPS Gold Medal as Documentary Photographer of the Year.
In 2020 I graduated from the University for the Creative Arts with BA (Hons) in Photography and in 2023 I obtained an MA in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from the University of Westminster.
I continue to work in documentary photography and portraiture.
